2011

15 March - 15 April - Phase 1 Consultation. 11 consultation events were held during Phase 1 to seek feedback on the potential onshore and offshore cable route corridor. The events took place in the following locations:

11 August - SMart Wind signs two agreements with The Crown Estate.

16 December - DONG Energy acquires 33.3% stake in in the first two offshore wind projects in the Hornsea zone from SMart Wind, the 50/50 joint venture between Mainstream Renewable Power and Siemens' Financial Services unit, represented by Siemens Project Ventures GmbH. The wind projects, Heron Wind Ltd and Njord Ltd (Hornsea Project One)., have a potential total capacity of up to 1.2GW.

2012

1 August - 12 September - Phase 3 Consultation. Section 42 and Section 47 Consultation (by correspondence only) and based on the Preliminary Environmental Information Report.

 

2013

31 January - Phase 4 Consultation. The SMart Wind consortium conducted  the final phase of consultation for Project One  based on the draft DCO application documentation, including the draft Environmental Statement.

 

19 February - 27 February -  Eight community consultation events took place in the Humber region for Project One which provided an opportunity for stakeholders to meet members of the SMart Wind team to discuss any aspect of the proposals for Project One and Project Two:

30 July - SMart Wind and DONG Energy submitted the Project One offshore wind farm on behalf of Heron Wind Limited, Njord Limited and Vi Aura Limited. to the Planning Inspectorate (PINS) for consent determination.

 

2014

 

20 January - SMart Wind Limited, on behalf of the joint applicants Heron Wind Limited, Njord Limited and Vi Aura Limited (together 'the Applicant')  submitted its first written response in support of the Application to the Planning Inspectorate.

 

24t April - Hornsea Project One awarded Contract for Difference (CfD) by DECC.
 

10 June - The 6 month examination process for Project One was formally concluded.

21 November - DONG Energy awarded a contract for one of the largest seabed investigation campaigns in the history of offshore wind to Wallingford-based Fugro Geoconsulting, part of the Fugro Group. The contract has a value of £13m.
 

10 December - Development Consent granted by Secretary of State

 

2015 -

4 February -  DONG Energy took over full ownership of Project One on 4 February following years of development alongside SMart Wind
